How to export from HubSpot

How to Export from HubSpot

It is easy to export a CSV from HubSpot to upload to Magellan Data. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.

Preliminaries

To work with Magellan Data, your final file needs to align with our three-column structure (ID, Company Name, and Website).

Good news: HubSpot automatically includes a unique Record ID in every export, so you do not need to manually add an ID column to your view. You only need to ensure your view contains the correct company and website information.

Your HubSpot view should be arranged to prioritize these two columns:

  • Company Name: The name of the company.
  • Website URL: The company's website (or "Company Domain Name").

Exporting from HubSpot

Follow these steps to prepare your view and export your data:

  1. Navigate to Companies: Open your HubSpot account and go to the Companies page.
  2. Arrange Your Columns:
    • Locate the Company Name column and ensure it is the first column on the far left.
    • Locate the Website URL (or Company Domain Name) column and drag it so it is the second column, immediately to the right of Company Name.
    • Note: Other columns can remain in the view, but organizing these two first ensures the data is mapped clearly.
  3. Initiate Export:
    • Click the Export button located in the top-right corner of the table.
  4. Configure Export Settings:
    • In the dialog box, ensure the File format is set to CSV.
    • You can name your export file (e.g., magellan_data_upload ) to make it easy to find later.
    • Click Export.
  5. Download:
    • HubSpot will process the file. Once ready, download the CSV file from the notification center or the email HubSpot sends you.

Your exported CSV will automatically contain the Record ID (handled by HubSpot), followed by your ordered columns (Name and Website), making it ready to drag and drop directly into Magellan Data.
